Sunstone FTW! :)
I struggle to find true, interesting, passionate, awesome LGBT stuff like this one, which is definitely my favourite ever so far :)

Sunstone, huh? *searches it up* Oh my!! It seems pretty intense XD

LGBT fiction can be hard to find relatable and yet passionate fiction. However, I have several really great books at home. Have you ever considered tumblr? It's actually a really good way to find LGBT fiction and it works well for me. XD

Sunstone may look a bit raunchy at first but it's really great, it's just so well written and really... human maybe? True relationships, true problems, true messages, true life... The guy's really talented (plus he's always dealing with personal life or health issues himself, poor lad :( ) :)
I never managed to get the way tumblr worked in fact xD I'll give it a new try I guess, thank you for the advice :D

Oh I see! c: I'm a bit sensitive to sexual content, but I still will consider it :D I don't want to put down a good book for that reason, and I can always escape the intensity of those scenes. He sounds like he could be an inspiration for me, because I try to do a similar thing in my works :D

Yeah, Tumblr can be pretty hard to understand sometime! But if you need recommendations, just let me know :) And this weekend, I can compile a list of resources for finding LGBT novels and maybe some reviews of my own. XD Maybe it will be of use to someone else as well!

We all have a different level of sensitiveness (and mine's incredibly low I sometimes scare myself truth be told xD) :) but I'd definitely recommend Sunstone; plus it's no raunchy porny stuff at all, it's not overexposed at all and there's just so much backup with the characters :) so yeah it's pretty intense, but really not for the sake of sex. Don't know if I'm helpful XD
Stjepan should be an inspiration for everyone :D he beats a lot of more well-known/mainstream L (only L, not G, B or T, so far at least) fiction in terms of characters and storytelling and pretty much everything :)
Awww, that's so kind of you  I wish I could do that in my weekend time x3

Ahhh I understand c: I think I'll look into it at the very least. No, no! You're fine, I get a lot out of what you're saying. Thanks for the recommendation c: I appreciate it.

If you ever feel up to it, would you be interested in reading one of my stories? Just out of curiosity. I do write LGBT fiction myself c: I can link you my most current story if you're interested :D

That's really cool c: I hope to live up to that level myself... although in terms with hopefully the entire spectrum XD

:huggle: I totally forgot about this, actually! I'll need to write it into my schedule so I can set aside some time to do this, and submit it to dA or  something xD I have so many books saved up on my reading tumblr aaaaa

Then I can only recommend it to you :) oh, thank you, people often get me wrong and they feel offended because I rarely (never) disguise or dampen my words, and I don't want it to happen when it's not necessary :3
Haha, time for some genuine self-promotion :D of course I'd gladly read it, give it to me c: you seem to be an adorable person with a lot of sensitiveness, I'd love to see what it may look like when you write stories :)
Haha, no worries, I've had work for all the weekend actually :D we've just both been busy :huggle:

You're very welcome c: I totally understand, actually! I sometimes get paranoid about offending people, so I try to word my words in a way that will respect the other person. I think you communicate just fine though, and I think you're actually pretty nice! :D

Lmao xD I just thought I'd bring it up since we were talking about LGBT fiction haha Anyway, this is a story I just finished up last month.  My Love, Arinya Jee (An Netheron Short Story) I really tried hard at balancing representation with plot here XD It's a bit long (around 4,000 words) but I hope you enjoy it :)

Actually, my stories can be rather dark and emotional XD But they have their cute moments too c:

I should probably think of a good time to do it this week. I have in my schedule plans for art related things this week XD

Great! :) I love to see diversity in fiction, I'd read it if you wrote some ^.^
I like a lot of fiction with LGBT characters, in fact one of my favourite Steampunk books of all time has a bunch of them ^^

Because what's the world without it?

She's only a self published indie author like us (which actually makes her more awesome) the book is called Crystal Heart by Meg Kingston...I found it when I met her at a Steampunk event locally and she read a passage and I was like...I've got to read this!  It's basically about a woman who lived in the victorian era, but has had some of her vital organs replaced with a chrystal and bits of machinery, so she's lived until the pesent day. The lead character is bisexual, the narrator is homosexual and one of the side characters is trans. It also has a blind character and theyre all fantastically written (also I was thankful to find that some of the romance scenes were left to the imagination...) I've read it twice and its one of my favourite Steampunk novels ever.
I think you can get it on Amazon, I mean over in the states you should be able to get it. I can look for the link if you want

Exactly! :D

Ah, that sounds really interesting! I'll have to pick up her book, then! My b-day is coming up, so I'll request it as one of my presents c: I love sci fi / steampunk adventures~ and having a little bit of LGBT characters in there, is also nice c: It creates a nice variety.

:) I thought it would be to your tastes ;) I really enjoyed it, and it's refreshing to see a diverse cast of characters written so well! :) The story is also genius, and I think she has a full trilogy planned which is so exciting!

That's great! I'll definitely need to get my hands on more LGBT fiction then, haha~ when I was 17, my parents bought me my first LGBT novel c: It was actually not that great (I almost threw the book across the room) but the ending was sweet at least :XD:

I would love to. I went to a bookstore that had a huge section on it, and it was all either very poorly done erotica or the classic "Bob comes out as gay, here is his struggle"

like, that stuff's fine and all, but I would love to read a gripping adventure story or a neat sci-fi where the characters just happen to be gay and it's not a huge end-all deal.

Oh wow... you're so right. There's such a huge lack of LGBT representation in adventurous / sci fi fiction. My favorite genre to write is sci fi / fantasy, and I always love a good challenge in fiction... so I'd love to write a sci fi  or fantasy fic with a gay protagonist. I doubt there's any Steampunk fiction with gay characters as well... hmm... well that's soon to change, haha :D

YESSSS
I already do read LGBT fiction actually! I recently read a book written in the 80's, that expanded on the idea of John Watson being in love with Sherlock (It also implied Sherlock was asexual. I think there are books available in which Sherlock is canonically asexual, which I need to find). Also, my friend recommended me a well-writtem book I want to read called "The Miseducation of Cameron Post", about a lesbian girl growing up in homophobic Texas in the 90's. I even write, to some degree, LGBT content - there are a lot of canon asexuals and bisexuals in my works... which makes sense in a story mainly about historical figures. :XD:

i'd love to see LGBT works from you, if you were to write some! :D

I do too! I've only read a little bit though... and it was a while back ^^; I did read this one rather bad fictional work about two lesbians who fall in love in the victorian era, and find each other in an asylum... I almost threw the book across the room, LOL :XD: It had a cute ending, though...

The Miseducation of Cameron Post, huh? I've never heard of it, but it sounds interesting. I might just have to pick it up and give it a read. :)

Have you ever read David Leviathan? I recommend some of his works. I read his book "everyday" and absolutely loved it. It's odd, but very intriguing.

Thanks for the support none the less <333 :glomp:

I'm surprised LOL at all this overwhelming support. :XD:

No one can forget about the society intolerance factor.... I'll definitely have to get my butt into gear writing one then. :XD: I do have a cute love story between Estelle and Marcilyn I had one of my dearest friends help edit with me. c: It's not canon though... it can't possibly be canon, LOL :XD: It'd screw up the plotline so bad... :XD:

I'm still so shy about stuff like this.

I was, too. They say the dA community is dying, but I don't see it between my friends.

Aaaaw  is it published or nah?

Aw, don't be shy! :huggle: Think of it as an opportunity to try something new, something exciting and to improve your skills. and also as an occasion to fish out homophobes amongst your friends Whether it would be your OCs or entirely new characters - either way I can't wait to read it!!
We love you, Viv! :dalove:

The dA community is still strong between our friends c: I think it's just becoming more divided because of the growth of the site, and many people are leaving for tumblr / other social media as well. :/

Not yet. It might be soon if I can grow the confidence to post it. ^^;

I- I don't even know what to say. :faint: This... this overwhelming support...
