SAI hands down for me. But then again, you already knew that about me ^^.
I've used Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, openCanvas v1-5, ArtRage and Paint Tool SAI for art and SAI just provides the working environment I feel the most at ease with ^^ everyone has their own preferences and I think it's important to let yourself try different ones and not limit your choices by popular brands or opinions. ^__^
I use SAI mainly as well, though lately I've been trying to use Photoshop more often. (I'm sure you've known that about me too ) I've tried GIMP, Sai, Photoshop, Paint.net, Manga Studio, and I think maybe Corel Painter at one point or another. I haven't tried openCanvas or Art rage before, but I may have heard of them. I've been mostly at home with Sai and Photoshop though. I was going to try Verve too because it sounded interesting, but my anti virus is being a real stickler about it.
That's very true. I think that's why I've tried a lot of different programs. I have at least 6 billion art softwares bundled up on my computer.
I like working with words, primarily. I do mixed digital media. I will use MS Paint and dafont.com most often to create a base for words then use apophysis for a base of the artistic design then I will use Pixlr Express to finish. Sometimes I'll use Editor for gradients for simple font creations and when I'm dealing with fractals, SumoPaint comes in handy because, unlike MS Paint, it utilizes transparency.
I use a variety depending on this piece, but I'm no longer an active artist. I just lost the desire... *sigh* It is something I miss though...
Wow you are gifted! I really enjoyed looking through these! Don't ever give up on these arts. You can always do both things... If poetry is your calling, definitely do poetry... but don't give up on your art, because that's another key of self expression... and art can be a very good way to vent too.
I'm just curious to see what people think about the digital art programs that are out there. I personally use Paint Tool SAI combined with Photoshop, and I also have Clip Studio Paint. By the way: on the poll, Photoshop includes Illustrator, Lightroom ect and Elements, any adobe software really. I probably spelled Corel Painter wrong... OTL
