Fascination turned to greed; they wanted our technology, our knowledge, our resources. It was simple to them, they offered what they had, for what we had. Their offers certainly weren't rip-offs, but we were happy, we didn't want what they were offering, so we declined. Peaceful negotiations slowly turned into hostile threats, if we won't give, then they'll take. We watched as they painted us as monsters to their unassuming populace, and that was all they had to do in order to get the support to attack us.
